What is the mission of Trinity Lutheran Church?
The mission of Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville, South Carolina, is to proclaim the Word of God and to administer the Sacraments through a worshiping, learning, witnessing and serving fellowship of baptized people, so that the gospel will stand at the center of our individual and collective lives, and will foster our relationships with others at home, in the community and throughout the world.
What is your policy on communion?
All baptized Christians are welcome at the table of God’s love to receive forgiveness of sins and the nourishing sustenance of Christ’s body and blood. Communion Instruction is provided for young children who wish to begin receiving communion.
What is your policy on baptisms?
A baptism at Trinity is a congregational celebration whereby members of the Trinity family promise to support the newly baptized in their life in Christ. Children of active Trinity members are invited to be baptized at the font.
How can I have a wedding at Trinity Lutheran Church?
The beautiful stained glass windows and Gothic architecture make the Trinity Sanctuary a beautiful, sacred place to celebrate a wedding. The privilege of celebrating a wedding at Trinity is reserved for Trinity members. New members are routinely welcomed into the life of the congregation in the fall and in the spring.
What should I wear to a worship service?
While a number of members still dress up for worship services at Trinity, regardless of attire, all are welcome to attend and participate in the worship life of our congregation.
Where should I park to attend a worship service?
Parking is provided in an upper and lower lot located between Main Street and Townes Street with entrances provided via both streets. An additional lot is situated next to the Playground with access from Townes Street. Additional parking is available on Sunday mornings on Main Street and in the city lot located across the street from the Sanctuary, the main building featuring the iconic three sets of red doors.
Is there a nursery available during services?
A nursery is available during worship at 9:00 am and 11:15 am as well as during Sunday School at 10:10 am for children up to 48 months. Beth Oswald faithfully serves as the Nursery Attendant on Sunday mornings. Beth is assisted by a number of Trinity adults and youth who provide gentle care for our youngest members. All nursery volunteers have been trained, screened and authorized through Trinity’s Child Protection Policy.
How can I make a contribution to Trinity Lutheran Church?
Contributions may be made through the offering received at each Sunday morning service, by mail, or by bank draft. Bank drafts are arranged by contacting Kay Cook at 242-5702 or kmcook@trinitylutheran.ws. A statement of contributions is mailed to each member quarterly.
When is the Church Office open?
Visitors are welcome to visit the Church Office Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Church Office is also open on Sunday mornings from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. During the week visitors to the Church Office should enter the building via the breezeway doors that connect the Education Building to the Activities Building.
How can I stay informed about the life of the church?
An Announcement Page is published each week denoting activities, hospitalized members and deaths within the congregational family, as well as upcoming events and is included in the Sunday worship bulletin. This Announcement Page is posted on the website each Monday. A newsletter entitled “The Tidings” is published monthly and is also included on the website.
